I have an important announcement to make.
For the past year I have been blessed with a job that allowed me great flexibility to blog to my heart’s content, to the point where I was able to post by the hour and keep up to date with book news around the clock. Just recently, I have been offered an advancement opportunity I can’t refuse and so with that comes more ‘real-life’ responsibilities and less time for me to interact in book world. So what does this mean about my blog and specifically, postings on my Facebook page?
There will be no significant change. I will still be checking in a few times (not by the hour sadly) per day, and you’ll see posts from me every day – they just may not be up to date as they used to be. I admit I’m a bit of a control freak when it comes to efficiency so I’m still getting used to the fact that not being able to post hourly isn’t the end of the world. If you’ve been around BVR for a while and follow me on Facebook too, you’ll notice that besides the usual sales, author news, and new releases, I post other things like:
– Reviews (usually around 3 per week)
– Weekly Goodreads giveaways list every Sunday (Facebook feature)
– Daily freebies list every afternoon-early evening (Facebook feature)
– BVR Weekly recap every Tuesday (Blog feature)
– Weekly gift card giveaway every Tuesday (Facebook feature)
– Follower Appreciation giveaway at the end of each month (Blog feature)
None of the above will change. I am still committed to all. Most likely my review count per week will drop to 1 or 2 and the daily freebies list timing will be sporadic depending on my job hours, but there will be a freebies list every day unless I warn you guys ahead of time.
I want to apologize ahead of time if this slight change will inconvenience any of you as I won’t be able to relay the latest book news to you in a timely manner and for explaining why you may only see, like, 5 posts from me per day instead of my usual number.
Blogging first started out as an outlet for me and all my book thoughts, but in the past year it’s grown to be much more than an idle hobby. Just the thought of not being able to be as active as before makes me want to cry but what I’m about to undertake career-wise is also something I’ve been aiming for. Hopefully in the upcoming weeks I will be able to find a wonderful balance between the two.
Oh and before I forget, I also have to announce that I am moving from the Blogger platform to WordPress in the next few days, so my blog will either be inaccessible or look funky to you. For my email subscribers, this will be the last post for a while and I’ll send out an email again once the platform transition is complete.
As always, thank you for your readership and support of my blog!
